November 2026 scholarship deadlines: three applications to sort by fit

By Meritously · Published · 3 min read

Start a November scholarship list with the applications you can actually use. Cooke and Elks MVS serve current high school seniors, while Alabama's November priority date below is for students entering in spring 2027. They do not share one applicant pool, one selection process or one college-entry term.

This dated shortlist was selected for published November deadlines and clearly different application routes. It is not an exhaustive list or a ranking of your chances. Provider pages were checked October 29, 2026; after a date passes, use the article to understand the process and confirm the next cycle directly.

Alabama's summer/fall 2027 priority date is December 4, not the November spring-entry date. Put the entry term directly in your tracker so an earlier date does not send you into the wrong process.

Cooke requires a financial screen before a writing plan

Cooke is a competitive award for high-achieving students with unmet financial need. Its published academic screen includes a 3.75 cumulative unweighted GPA and an SAT, ACT, AP or IB score, although there is no minimum test score. Read the full eligibility page for school-history, enrollment and financial-review conditions.

The application requires two academic recommendations and a counselor recommendation. Ask those people about timing before spending all your available hours polishing a response. A form you control and a recommendation another person must submit are different tasks; the second can determine whether your plan is realistic.

If the requirements do not fit, moving to another award is a useful decision. A prestigious name does not justify applying outside the published eligibility rules. The Cooke application guide explains the funding and workload in more detail.

For Elks, submitted is not the finish line

The Elks FAQ distinguishes a submitted application from a complete one. Make time to inspect the portal checklist and confirm the counselor material has arrived. Its citizenship rule also matters: permanent residence alone does not meet the stated U.S.-citizen requirement.

Use the published Pacific closing time rather than assuming your own midnight applies. Set your personal target earlier, leaving room to fix an upload or missing response. The margin is a planning choice, not a provider extension.

Do not count an application submission as scholarship income. Keep possible competitive awards separate from aid you have actually been offered when comparing college costs.

Turn three leads into a manageable week

  • Remove any opportunity whose applicant category, citizenship, financial or enrollment rules do not fit.
  • Record the exact provider deadline, timezone when supplied, and the earlier date you intend to finish.
  • Request the material someone else controls, then work on your own application responses.
  • Save the submission confirmation and check for remaining requirements before closing the task.

The seasonal counselor planning sheet provides a downloadable starting list and blank next-action columns. Keep only the opportunities relevant to you. A short list with completed applications is more useful than an impressive collection of deadlines you cannot act on.
