UT Arlington scholarships for 2027: spring and fall use different award schedules

By Meritously · Published · 3 min read

At UT Arlington, a spring 2027 scholarship deadline is not the same as a fall 2027 deadline. The university publishes different freshman award ranges by term, so copying the first date on the scholarship page can send an applicant down the wrong path.

Start with your entry term and applicant type. A high school senior planning fall entry should use the freshman fall section; a transfer applicant has a separate award and deadline.

Selected freshman merit terms

On a smaller screen, scroll the table sideways to see every column.

Selected freshman merit terms
Entry / awardPublished annual offerScholarship deadline
Fall 2027 Presidential Honors$13,000March 1, 2027
Fall 2027 Presidential$10,000March 1, 2027
Fall 2027 Maverick Academic$1,000-$8,000 rangeMarch 1, 2027
Spring 2027 Maverick Academic$1,000-$4,000 rangeNovember 1, 2026

These figures come from UTA's explicitly labeled 2027 sections. A stray overview sentence still refers to fall 2026; use the specific term heading and confirm the terms in your notice. The amounts are not a guarantee that every admitted student receives the maximum.

All required admission records must arrive

UTA says new incoming students are considered without an extra merit application when required admission documents arrive before the scholarship deadline. The awards require annual renewal conditions. Its page also warns that accepting one of these merit offers automatically accepts admission to UTA.

Read the acceptance action before clicking it. A scholarship portal button can do more than save an offer for later review. Keep a copy of the terms, confirm any deadline for accepting and distinguish that step from applying for additional opportunities in Mav ScholarShop.

Do not infer a tuition waiver from a scholarship name

For a nonresident, ask whether the particular award includes or qualifies for any tuition-rate change, and ask for the conditions in writing. A scholarship amount and a nonresident waiver are different parts of an aid package. The existence of a waiver program elsewhere on the site does not prove it applies to your offer.

Build two price columns only if the office identifies two valid scenarios. Put tuition at the confirmed rate, mandatory fees and living costs in each. Then subtract the actual scholarship and other confirmed aid. This prevents accidentally counting a tuition reduction twice.

A short sequence for applicants

  • Confirm freshman versus transfer status and the exact semester of entry.
  • Use that section's scholarship deadline, then work backward for transcript and other record delivery.
  • Verify receipt in the admissions portal; a sent record is not always a processed record.
  • Read the award's selection, renewal and acceptance terms when it arrives.
  • Compare remaining cost with your other offers before accepting.
