- Start and complete admission, all admission checklist items and the separate National Alumni Scholarship application. Invited semifinalists complete a scholarship interview to compete for full tuition or one of three Carpenter awards.

- Who can apply
- Enter directly from high school in summer or fall and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.8 on a 4.0 scale. Academic achievement, leadership, service, initiative, commitment and love of learning are considered. No citizenship restriction, top-5% substitute or weighted-GPA exception is stated on the current award page.

- Current official page opens November 1, 2026 and closes complete admission/checklist and separate NAS application December 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. CST. Invited virtual interviews are February 2, 4, 7, 9 or 11, 2027. Carpenter is $10,000 annually, stacks with Presidential, and renews up to four years/first degree with full-time enrollment, 3.25 GPA and SAP. Recipients meet Alumni & Development each semester and engage in campus leadership and annual scholarship competition days. Tuition-specific aid cannot exceed tuition.
