- Award
- Full tuition for up to 18 credits each semester, matching fees, double-occupancy MSU housing, DineOn Silver meals and $1000 annually, for eight consecutive undergraduate fall/spring semesters; renewal requires 3.2 GPA, at least 12 credits each semester and Honors College membership.
- Deadline
- For Fall 2027, submit a complete MSU first-year admission application by November 1, 2026 for maximum scholarship consideration and possible Alumni Distinguished competition invitation. Competition examination and any later finalist instructions are sent to invitees.
- How to apply
- Apply for MSU first-year admission by November 1; outstanding applicants may be invited to the Alumni Distinguished competition and examination. Follow the invitation for any additional finalist materials or interviews.

- Outstanding incoming first-year applicants selected by academic/intellectual performance and competition participation; recipients must remain in MSU Honors College while pursuing their first undergraduate MSU degree.
- Good to know
- Complete at least 12 credits each semester and maintain 3.2 cumulative GPA. One GPA probationary semester; ineligible semesters count toward the eight-semester maximum. Initial award cannot be deferred, and later enrollment interruption requires an approved leave. MSU may adjust for other awards; need-based aid may decrease. Annual ADS/UDS cohort participation is expected. Distinct from National Merit.
