Award
Full tuition with a $2,500 stipend or partial/half tuition. Renews annually for the degree program while maintaining academic progress and the program’s character/participation standards. Tuition awards do not cover housing.

  3. Mar 20Required virtual events/interview in early 27, with exact dates sent to finalists. Awards announced in March 2027.
How to apply
Submit Common or Coalition admission application, then the individual 250-word scholar response in WashU Pathway. Counselor and teacher admission recommendations are reviewed; a third community/leadership recommendation is optional and encouraged. Finalists must attend the virtual events and interview to remain eligible.

Who can apply
Incoming first-year applicants to any undergraduate school who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or undocumented/DACA students living in the U.S.; transfers excluded. Academic excellence, leadership, community service and commitment to diversity/social justice. No numerical GPA/test floor is published.
Good to know
May apply to more than one Signature Scholar program. Early Decision commitments precede scholarship decisions. Scholars participate in program/community activities; approved WashU academic-year study abroad can be funded. Need aid is coordinated with merit.
