Renewal GPA is 3.4 or 3.5 depending on the academic program, without rounding, reviewed after the first year and annually thereafter; Honors status and active program participation are required.

- How to apply
- Apply to Ohio State and indicate University Honors or Scholars interest; allow one to five days to receive and activate the OSU username. Submit the separate Eminence application using those credentials without waiting for an admission decision. Include a maximum 500-word problem-solving essay and a two-minute video via an unlisted, not private, YouTube link. Complete virtual finalist interview and required campus event if selected.

- Who can apply
- New first-year students entering Ohio State Columbus in Autumn 2027, pursuing their first undergraduate degree. U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible; all majors encouraged. Must gain and maintain Honors status each semester, complete an Honors thesis or other capstone, engage in community service, and participate in required Eminence events. Entry academic selection is holistic; no numerical high school GPA cutoff is stated.
- Good to know
- Honors requires at least 18 hours of honors-quality coursework. The 3.5 college GPA rule applies to architecture, biomedical science, business, dental hygiene, education/human ecology, integrated business/engineering, and pharmacy; other programs generally use 3.4. Applying initially to Scholars is allowed, but Eminence finalists move into Honors.
