Who can apply
Domestic and international first-time first-year applicants in any major entering fall immediately after high-school graduation, without a gap year or transfer. The program homepage explicitly requires top-academic-tenth standing in the UT Dallas entering class of 2027 and an AES offer. Scholars commit to four years and may not graduate early. Compensated work is prohibited except for program-approved experiential opportunities such as eligible internships, research or campus roles.
Good to know
The current homepage confirms entering-2027 criteria, but the linked application instructions remain on an old December 1, 2025 admission date and do not provide the current separate scholarship deadline. McDermott cannot stack with UT Dallas AES, National Merit, Comet or Terry institutional awards; outside awards need financial-aid approval. International insurance, administrative/visa-related costs and additional taxes are not covered. Approximate published valuation is not a future-cohort guarantee.
