- $42,000 over four years: $14,000 Presidential Scholarship, $16,000 Vires Scholarship and $12,000 for educational enrichment activities. Nonresidents also receive a waiver of the out-of-state portion of tuition.
- Deadline
- Apply to FSU and submit the University Honors Program/Presidential Scholars essay by 11:59 p.m. EST on December 1, 2026. Semifinalist video responses due February 28, 2027. Finalist Recruitment Weekend is April 2 to 3, 2027.
- How to apply
- Students who apply to the University Honors Program are automatically considered for this invitation-only program. Semifinalists submit two video responses and finalists attend a required on-campus interview during Recruitment Weekend.

- High school seniors admitted to the Florida State University Honors Program.
- Good to know
- Renewal requires 15 credits per semester, cumulative FSU GPA at least 3.0 and successful degree progress. Five Presidential Scholars are also Stamps Scholars. Enrichment funding supports approved educational activities rather than unrestricted cash. The tuition waiver value depends on enrollment; it does not cover fees or study-abroad tuition. Scholars participate in the four-year program, first-year UROP research and first-year Landis Hall residency.
