2027-2028 per year: Presidential Elite 32-36 ACT or 1420-1600 SAT and 4.0+ $28,500; Presidential 32-36/1420-1600 and 3.5-3.99 $22,500; Provost 27-31/1260-1410 and 3.5+, or 30-36/1360-1600 and 3.0-3.49 $17,500; Green and Gold 24-26/1160-1250 and 3.5+, or 27-29/1260-1350 and 3.0-3.49 $9,500; Blazer 22-23/1100-1150 and 3.5+, or 24-26/1160-1250 and 3.0-3.49 $7,500. Test-optional admits with 3.5+ GPA: $7,500-$28,500.
Deadline
For the 2027-2028 cycle, apply for admission by May 1, 2027. The February ACT or March SAT of senior year is the final score considered.
How to apply
Automatic for high school seniors admitted with test scores; test-optional admits reviewed from the application.

Who can apply
Out-of-state seniors. No superscores. Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee/asylee or otherwise lawfully present.
Good to know
One national scholarship can stack with the merit award; National Merit is $4,000 per year. Certain national awards require the BSMART general application. Current renewal guidance requires 24 UAB credits earned during fall and spring and at least 3.0 cumulative UAB GPA, but final 2027-2028 scholarship policy terms are not yet posted.
