Flagship Scholars Commitment (out-of-state)

Award

Fall 2026-Spring 2027: Flagship Match $13,583 to $19,311 per year (matches your home-state flagship cost, eligible states only); Flagship Leaders $9,000 to $12,000 per year; Early Action Award of $3,000-$5,000 extra for early applicants.

Deadline

The latest program page gives December 1, 2025 for maximum consideration for fall 2026. The fall 2027 program deadline is not confirmed.

Who can apply

Out-of-state first-year students with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. Based on GPA and course rigor. Test optional.

Good to know

The detailed Flagship scholarship amounts, 2.5 GPA floor, renewal rules and December 1, 2025 date are for fall 2026/spring 2027. UMaine now promotes applications for fall 2027 and says apply by December 1 for maximum aid, but its Flagship-specific 2027-28 grid and eligibility are not published. Do not use the older 2.5 threshold to filter current applicants.
