- Who can apply
- First-year or transfer students entering Oberlin for the first time in fall 2025 or later who either permanently reside in or graduate from a high school in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota or Wisconsin, and enroll in the College of Arts and Sciences and/or Conservatory. Other listed full-tuition Oberlin programs exclude this additional award.

- The dedicated Midwest Merit page clarifies the conflicting general overview: Double Degree students may receive a fifth $25,000 year, for $125,000 total. The award includes the $10,000 Commitment Scholarship rather than stacking it separately. Outside funding may reduce the award to keep total aid within cost of attendance.
