National Merit Scholarship (Tulane-sponsored)
ListedCollege program
- Award
- Awards of at least $2,000 annually may be offered to qualified first-year Finalists naming Tulane first choice, from either NMSC or Tulane, not both in the same year. After a one-year-only NMSC award, Tulane provides $2,000 annually while the student is primarily a full-time Newcomb-Tulane undergraduate.
- Deadline
- Name Tulane as first choice with NMSC by its final receipt deadline of May 31, 2027. Choices received before March 1, 2027 enter the first referral group.
- How to apply
- Be a National Merit Finalist and name Tulane as your first-choice school with NMSC.
- What you'll need
- No separate application: you are considered when you apply for admission
- Who can apply
- Qualified first-year National Merit Finalists naming Tulane first choice and enrolling primarily as full-time Newcomb-Tulane undergraduates. Tulane says international students are eligible for its listed merit awards, subject to program requirements. NMSC citizenship requirements apply to entrants attending high school outside the U.S.; individual award rules still apply.
- Good to know
- Current admissions wording says awards may be offered. The specific National Merit aid page directs renewal to NMSC requirements, including full-time degree enrollment, good standing and individual offer terms. Tulane’s supplement after a one-year NMSC award requires primarily full-time Newcomb-Tulane undergraduate enrollment. General Tulane merit offer conditions may also apply.
