Apply to Arkansas, upload your National Merit Finalist Certificate to the New Student Center, and confirm Arkansas as first choice with NMSC.
Who can apply
National Merit Finalists, and Semifinalists applying for the Chancellor's Scholarship, with at least a 3.75 GPA on the admissions National Merit page. Most university freshman awards permit U.S. citizens, lawful residents or foreign nationals permitted to study in the U.S. NMSC citizenship requirements apply to entrants attending high school outside the U.S.; individual award rules still apply.

Admissions and scholarship-office pages list $12,000 annual Chancellor's Merit; the 2026–27 catalog instead says up to $10,000 plus NMSC and requires a freshman scholarship application. Confirm the current award and application route. Scholarship office renewal requires 2.75 GPA and 30 hours per year for four years, five for architecture. Nonresident Merit recipients also receive NRTA; Honors fellowships are separate and need an application.
