- National Merit Finalists entering in 2027–28: Arizona residents $15,000 per year; nonresidents $17,500 per year. The undated National Scholar page lists National Recognition awards of $10,000 per year for Arizona residents and $17,500 for nonresidents; 2027–28 Recognition amounts are not separately confirmed.

- Jan 15, 2027Regular admission . National Merit Finalists must designate ASU first choice by May 1, 2027. Nonresident National Scholar awards require Barrett admission and enrollment.

- National Merit Finalists: select ASU as first choice with NMSC by May 1. Nonresidents (both programs): be admitted to and enroll in Barrett, The Honors College.

- Who can apply
- Incoming first-year National Merit Finalists or College Board National Recognition awardees. Nonresident recipients must be admitted to and enroll in Barrett. Students must enter ASU directly after high school unless approved for deferment, remain self- or family-funded and enroll on campus rather than ASU Online. NMSC citizenship requirements apply to entrants attending high school outside the U.S.; individual award rules still apply.
- Good to know
- The 2027–28 estimator confirms National Merit amounts. National Recognition values remain undated on the program page. Awards replace other New American University scholarships. Renewal: 30 ASU credits by spring and 3.0 cumulative ASU GPA, continuous full-time 12-credit enrollment; AP/transfer/repeat credits do not count. Eight fall/spring semesters, or six for 90-credit programs; no summer funding. Changes in campus/residency/program may adjust awards. Unused terms may transfer immediately to eligible full-time ASU immersion graduate study.
