- Finalists naming UNT first choice are considered for a four-year scholarship covering tuition and mandatory fees, standard double-occupancy campus housing, a 7-Day Basic meal plan and textbooks. Value is calculated annually using UNT’s scholarship cost-of-attendance budget. Continuing eligibility and renewal terms are provided in the individual official offer.

- Name UNT as first choice with NMSC by its final receipt deadline of May 31, 2027. Choices received before March 1, 2027 enter the first referral group.

- Be a National Merit Finalist and designate UNT as your number one school with NMSC. FAFSA encouraged.

- National Merit Finalists naming UNT first choice. Nonresident tuition-waiver recipients must meet Selective Service registration requirements or applicable exemptions. NMSC citizenship requirements apply to entrants attending high school outside the U.S.; individual award rules still apply.
