- Award
- $2,000 per year, renewable for up to four years.
- Deadline
- Be admitted by the priority admission deadline and apply in JagSPOT before the scholarship deadline. The page shows fall 2026 dates (priority February 15, 2026).
- How to apply
- Be an NMSC Finalist admitted by the priority admission deadline, inform NMSC that South Alabama is your first choice, and complete the JagSPOT application.
- Who can apply
- National Merit Finalists admitted to South Alabama by its priority admission deadline and naming it first choice. NMSC citizenship requirements apply to entrants attending high school outside the U.S.; individual award rules still apply. Confirm any institution-specific visa or citizenship restriction for this award.
- Good to know
- Current freshman page still gives fall2026dates. Award can combine with Freshman Admission Scholarship up to aid limits. General institutional renewal requires full-time fall/spring enrollment, 30 USA credits annually and at least a 3.0 cumulative institutional GPA; summer funding is unavailable. Institutional awards are nonrefundable and unused funds do not roll forward.
