- How to apply
- Submit SlideRoom materials through the Common Application. Instrumentalists and vocalists submit two solo video performances, preferably contrasting styles; audio-only and nonsolo ensemble videos are not accepted. Composers submit PDFs of two contrasting compositions, with recordings optional. Music history, theory or ethnomusicology applicants submit a PDF writing sample, with original multimedia optional. Awards are announced with the admission decision.

- Prospective first-year students with musical talent; recipients do not need to major in music.

- Must join a faculty-led ensemble (Choir, Jazz Ensemble or Orchestra) and take lessons or a music course each semester.
