- Submit the embedded online application and one personal statement up to 250 words: reflect on paying kindness forward, or choose any topic. Content is judged rather than writing style. Complete basic contact/school/education-goal information and certify educational use; no mailed application or supplemental materials. Resubmission is allowed, with latest/most complete used.

- Who can apply
- Current grades 10-12 or college students, or people planning to enter college within twelve months, who are U.S. citizens or legal residents and attend/plan an accredited U.S. two-year, four-year, vocational/trade or online programme. Homeschool, gap-year and nontraditional students are allowed. FAQ permits DACA students if legal residents; no need, GPA or test-score selection.

- One landing heading mistakenly says Gratitude, but its substantive Pay It Forward text, current award directory and embedded form agree on the distinct award. Winners generally selected 8-10 weeks after closing.
