- 2027 prizes are unpublished. The 2026 rules awarded each national-final team member and one coach $1,000 for first place, $500 second, $250 third or $200 fourth; lodging and group meals were covered, but travel was not.

- How to apply
- Start with a coached local team and the state competition. State winners progress to national qualifying rounds. The 2026 rules used teams of three or four, online semifinal tests, and an in-person critical-thinking presentation and quiz bowl; 2027 detailed rules remain unpublished.

- A finalist round or selection weekend
- Who can apply
- High school students. The current page places AP, IB, honors and returning competitors in Adam Smith; David Ricardo is for first-time competitors with no more than one economics course. The 2026 rules also required homeschooled students to enter Adam Smith and teams to share a school or eligible organization; those detailed 2027 rules are not yet confirmed.
