ASA Data Visualization Poster Competition (Grades K to 12)

ListedCompetition
Award
First prize $300, second $200 and third $100 per grade division, split equally among collaborators. First-place winners in grades 4 to 12 also receive TI graphing calculators.
Deadline
April 1 each year under ASA’s published standing policy. A separate 2027 announcement and closing time are not posted; no future-year date is inferred.
How to apply
If a regional competition serves your area, submit only to that regional competition. Otherwise submit the ASA online entry and a readable high-quality poster image or digital PDF. Do not submit to both routes or mail a physical poster. Include the category and title in the filename and omit identifying team or school information from the poster. No entry fee. The linked ASA entry form currently reports its submission period closed; reopening and the complete current form are unconfirmed.
Who can apply
Students in grades K to 12 residing in the United States or Canada. Teams in K to 3 have no size limit; other teams may have up to four members, with the highest grade setting the category. Original posters must be 18 to 24 inches high by 24 to 30 inches wide, with at least two related graphics addressing a statistical question.
Good to know
ASA’s August 2026 results explicitly confirms the recurring April 1 deadline. The current direct-entry form is closed; verify reopening before submitting. Regional deadlines differ: Michigan’s published 2027 regional deadline is March 26, 2027, and top entries advance to national judging.
