Deadline
Qualify through your state, province or partner nation. The international competition is July 24 to 30, 2027 in Emmitsburg, Maryland; 2027 team registration dates are not yet published.
How to apply
Compete through your state, provincial or partner-nation Envirothon program and obtain the representative’s certification. Qualifying teams register all participants, pay registration fees and sign competition rules and codes of conduct; adult chaperones and host-provided lodging and meals are required.

Who can apply
Teams of five students from the same school, nontraditional school or youth organization, in grades 9 to 12 and ages 14 to 19 at the start of the competition. Students must complete the current-year Envirothon program or training before the qualifying competition and be affiliated with a local conservation district or equivalent agency. State/provincial programs send one team; partner nations may send up to three. Teams with fewer than five compete only as exhibitions and cannot receive awards.
Good to know
The 2027 current issue is Soil Health Management. NCF rules say awards will be announced before the competition; the 2027 award list, registration details and oral presentation rules have not been posted.
