Rotary Four-Way Test Speech Contest (District 5340)

- 2026-27 cycle: local club contests take place in January and February 2027, followed by subregional/regional rounds. District finals are April 22, 2027. Individual club entry deadlines vary.
- How to apply
- Be selected with teacher help and sponsored by a District 5340 Rotary club; advance through club, subregional and regional contests. Complete the district photo-release form, with parent signature if under 18. The district says updated resources will be available at fourwaytest-5340.org starting October 10, 2026.
- What you'll need
- A nomination (check the program's nominator rules)
- A speech or recorded oration
- A finalist round or selection weekend
- Who can apply
- High school students ages 14 to 18 residing in Rotary District 5340 (San Diego and Imperial Valley) who have not previously won first place.
- Good to know
- Original 5 to 7 minute speech applying the Four-Way Test; no props, with penalties outside the time range. Notes allowed at club/subregional level without reading the whole speech; one 3 x 5 card at regionals and no notes at finals.
