Foundation Scholarship

- Award
- Covers financial aid cost of attendance for up to eight undergraduate semesters or completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever comes first, plus a one-time $4,500 study abroad or academic enhancement stipend. Reduced by any Promise Scholarship; multiple majors receive the tuition cost of the most expensive major only.
- Deadline
- Must be admitted to WVU as a first-time freshman by January 19, 2027.
- How to apply
- Eligible students receive application materials by mail, usually starting in late October or early November. Five recipients are chosen by a selection committee from the pool of 20 Bucklew Scholars.

- Who can apply
- West Virginia residents graduating from a West Virginia high school, or home-schooled in West Virginia for at least senior year, with at least a 3.80 high school GPA and ACT 30 or SAT 1360. Must be admitted as a degree-seeking first-time freshman by January 19, 2027. Online programs are ineligible.
- Good to know
- Renewal requires at least a 2.75 overall GPA, 30 earned credits per academic year and full-time enrollment of at least 12 credits per semester.
