How to apply
Submit a Common Application or Coalition Application with the high-school transcript and counselor and teacher recommendations; SAT/ACT scores are optional. Use the 2027 Brooks Scholarship portal for a music resume, approximately one-page personal repertoire/composition essay, and contact details for two music recommenders: current private teacher and another music teacher or professional. Performers submit two contrasting videos, no more than 15 minutes total, with accompaniment where appropriate and no editing or audio enhancement. Composers submit two original scores for contrasting instrumentations, with recordings if available.

Who can apply
High school seniors who will major in music or double major in music and another discipline, with outstanding instrumental/vocal performance or composition and strong academics.
Good to know
AI-generated scores, including partially AI-generated scores, are prohibited. Renewal requires a strong academic record and continued active music-major participation. Holy Cross institutional scholarships are limited to eight semesters and require satisfactory academic progress; they cannot be refunded for off-campus housing.
