Award
Nemerov Writing Scholars: up to ten $3,000 annual awards. Olin Distinguished Scholars: up to ten full-tuition scholarships. Both renewable up to four years with satisfactory degree progress.
Deadline
Nemerov: apply to Arts & Sciences by December 16, 2026 for priority, then submit writing samples by January 4, 2027. Olin: admission application by January 4, 2027; no separate scholarship form.
How to apply
Nemerov: select College of Arts & Sciences and upload two creative-writing samples, preferably different genres, in WashU Pathway. Olin: select Olin Business School on the admission application; eligible applicants are automatically considered.
Who can apply
Nemerov is for entering Arts & Sciences students with exceptional creative-writing potential who pursue a writing minor. Olin Distinguished Scholars is for entering Olin Business School applicants; selection considers character, academics, leadership, community service and promise in business.
Good to know
These are two distinct school scholarships with separate routes and values; the stated dates apply to fall 2027 entry.
