- Who can apply
- Entering college and AFROTC in 2027-28, with no prior full-time postsecondary enrollment except qualifying high-school dual enrollment. At least 3.3 unweighted cumulative GPA through the last complete school year, SAT 1310/ACT 28/CLT 93 from one test without superscoring; ACT Science is mandatory. At least 17 at activation and at most 30 by December 31 of commissioning year. Citizenship must be obtained by the end of the first freshman term and before activation. Homeschooled students are eligible; prior-service applicants have additional release/separation requirements.
- Good to know
- The 2027-28 application fitness assessment is one timed 2-mile run, one minute of pushups and one minute of situps, administered by an authorized school official or guardian; only one score sheet is allowed. Temporary medical exemptions require documentation. Activation requires contracting and medical clearance, and awards must be used in the awarded degree category. Sophomore continuation is competitive. The standard nonrated Air Force commitment is four active-duty years; aviation roles have longer training-related obligations. Recipients can withdraw before sophomore year without scholarship repayment or service obligation. Exact scholarship GPA retention conditions should be confirmed with the detachment.
