- $10,000 one-time academic scholarship, paid directly to approved postsecondary school or qualified 529 plan for younger scholars. Tuition/related fees/required books/supplies/equipment; no cash payment. Disbursement around July 2027, undisburseable funds forfeited December 31, 2027.
- Deadline
- Online applications August 20, 2026-October 20, 2026 at 11:59 PM PST as printed in rules. Winners notified February 2027 and must complete payment/travel documentation by February 12, 2027. Required paid trip May 5-7, 2027, Scottsdale, Arizona.
- How to apply
- Complete online ISTS application and supply all requested information/recommender email; only first complete application considered, no mailed/faxed forms or later additions. Selected minors need parent affidavit/assignment of rights within seven days; winners must answer sponsor requests promptly and provide payment/travel details by February 12, 2027. Attend full mandatory event agenda; inability to attend revokes scholarship.

- Who can apply
- Ages 5-25 on August 20, 2026, enrolled in accredited U.S. institution kindergarten through graduate school. U.S. citizen or permanent resident living in 50 states; sustained unpaid U.S. hunger-relief service during previous 12 months helping nonfamily members. Sodexo/Foundation employees ineligible; nonemployee family may apply.
- Good to know
- Up to five national scholars, sponsor may vary count. Separate $5,000 grant goes to approved tax-exempt U.S. hunger-relief charity, not student; honorable mentions only $1,000 charity grant. Trip pays for scholar and up to two approved immediate-family guests; submission/publicity rights granted.
