How to apply

Prior-cycle rules: apply online with transcripts, SAT/ACT scores, proof of 25 qualifying rated games, accomplishments and service, teacher and chess-coach recommendations, service-support letter, an essay of up to 500 words and photo.

Who can apply

Prior-cycle rules: current US Chess members who are high school juniors or seniors, with at least 25 qualifying regular-rated US Chess/FIDE games in the specified year and at least one year of service since grade 9. Ambassador applicants must be rated below 2000. Previous recipients are ineligible.
