Contact the Recruiting Operations Officer at a participating school. Medical qualification or an approved waiver is required before contracting.
What you'll need
  • A separate scholarship application
  • An interview
Who can apply
High-school applicants normally need 2.5 unweighted GPA, SAT/ACT scores, a high-school diploma or equivalent before September 1 of the award year, Army medical, height/weight and fitness standards, age at least 17 by the first scholarship semester and under 31 during the commissioning calendar year. The current scholarship regulation permits U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals before contracting; dual citizens must be willing to renounce the other citizenship if requested for security clearance. Under-18 contracting requires parental consent. GPA waivers require Cadet Command approval.
Good to know
Acceptance carries an eight-year Army service obligation; active-duty versus Reserve/National Guard requirements depend on the scholarship and contract. Scholarship recipients may leave before entering sophomore year without obligation. Continued benefits require full-time enrollment, degree progress, at least 2.0 term and cumulative academic and ROTC GPAs, and military fitness/height/weight and conduct standards. The room-and-board election excludes fees.
