Four-year full tuition and selected educational fees, or room and board up to $11,500 annually; $750 per academic year for textbooks, uniforms/Naval Science textbooks, three summer cruises and monthly academic-year subsistence: $250 freshman, $300 sophomore, $350 junior and $400 senior. Deadline
Fiscal year 2027 Navy, Nurse and Marine option online applications close January 31, 2027 at midnight; the portal does not state the time zone. Allow time for recruiter-coordinated supporting materials.
How to apply
Create a Netfocus application account and use the Application Information Checklist linked by the current NROTC page with a Navy or Marine recruiter. It calls for signed understanding, debarment and drug statements, officer interview(s), teacher recommendations, transcripts and official test scores. Navy/Nurse applicants take the Applicant Fitness Assessment; Marine applicants take the Marine fitness test. Confirm final FY2027 materials and deadlines with the recruiter.
What you'll need
  • A separate scholarship application
  • Recommendations
  • An interview
Who can apply
High-school graduates admitted to an approved NROTC college, medically and physically qualified, and U.S. citizens or applicants in the naturalization process as described on the NROTC page. The general Navy/Nurse route requires age 17 and under 23 by September 1 of the college-start year; the separate Marine-option page permits applicants younger than 27 by December 31 of the anticipated commissioning year. Current Navy recruiting guidance lists SAT 550 reading/540 math with 1100 combined, or ACT 22 English/21 math with 44 combined; the Marine option lists SAT 1000 combined, ACT 22 composite or AFQT 74. Verify option-specific exceptions with the recruiter.
Good to know
Navy option scholars owe at least five years active duty after commissioning; Marine and Navy Nurse options owe at least four years. NROTC regulations require 2.5 term and cumulative college GPA, full-time degree progress, required Naval Science courses and fitness standards. Academic deficiencies undergo program review; a single low grade does not necessarily end benefits. Fiscal year 2027 application portal confirms the closing date but no time zone.
