- Deadline
- Packets must reach your American Legion Department (state) by March 1, 2027. Follow any earlier local post or district deadline. Department winners advance to national headquarters by April 1, 2027.
- How to apply
- Submit the full nomination packet to the Legion department where the Scout unit is chartered, including current Scouting membership proof, official high-school transcript, school/community/religious records, Scouting leadership and Eagle project summaries, career interests, four required recommendations from religious institution, school, community and Scouting, and Scout, parent and unit-leader certifications. Department winners advance to national headquarters by April 1.

- Entry through a local chapter or club
- Who can apply
- Registered active Scouting America members who have earned the Eagle Scout Award and a religious emblem, are at least 15 and enrolled in high school, and either belong to a unit chartered to an American Legion post, auxiliary unit or SAL squadron, or have a parent or grandparent who is a current Legion, SAL or Auxiliary member.
- Good to know
- Requires a Legion-chartered unit or a parent/grandparent with current Legion-family membership; a recently deceased member may use the prior-year membership. The national winner must be available for the August convention youth delegation. Funds support accredited postsecondary study and must be used within four years after high-school graduation, excluding military duty or religious mission.
