- Award
- More than 60 merit and need-based programs, generally $2,500 to $20,000, with both one-time and renewable awards. Individual award renewal terms vary.
- Deadline
- SME says the 2026-27 application is closed and the next round starts in November. Its recurring application period is November 1-February 1; the next closing year is not separately dated.
- How to apply
- Register at scholarships.smeef.org and submit one application for all eligible awards. Provide manufacturing-related short answers, transcripts, completed STEM coursework and two recommendations, including one faculty member. Pell-eligible high school seniors should submit a FAFSA Submission Summary for need-based awards.

- Graduating high school seniors and current college students pursuing manufacturing-related technical degrees at accredited U.S. or Canadian colleges or universities, with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Full-time and part-time students qualify. U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents and student visa holders may apply; individual awards add restrictions.
