- Thirty $50,000 college scholarships are offered for the 2027 Edison Scholars program. The sponsor has not yet published the 2027 payment schedule or continuation terms.

- Jan 22, 2026The sponsor says the 2027 program opens in fall 2026 but gives no exact dates. The prior application closed
- Feb 6, 2026Its recommendation deadline was at CST. These are not 2027 deadlines.
- How to apply
- Sign up for 2027 opening updates. Published 2026 administrator requirements include complete transcript, two 1,000-character written responses, one nonrelative online recommendation, first two pages of family IRS 1040 with identifiers redacted, headshot and SCE customer/account number from a family utility bill. Top 50 finalists submit a video at most two minutes; 2027 full materials are not yet posted.

- Who can apply
- High school senior with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and financial need, living in Southern California Edison’s service area, planning an accredited four-year college or university and an eligible STEM major. Dependents of Edison International or SCE employees and retirees are ineligible. Top 50 finalists submit a short video.
- Good to know
- Eligible fields include computing/information systems, engineering/engineering technology, mathematics, natural resources/conservation and physical sciences. Scholars may apply for a paid SCE internship after the first college year, subject to eligibility and hiring screening; the internship is not guaranteed. Current sponsor GPA/geography criteria are independent of the old-cycle administrator guide.
