- Spring/summer 2027 high school seniors with 3.0 GPA, GED recipients by June 30, 2027, or full-time college freshmen/sophomores with 2.75 GPA; applicants must be no older than 20 on August 1, 2027. U.S. citizens or permanent residents residing at a permanent home address in AL, AR, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MS, MO, NE, NJ, NY, NC, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WV or DC. The FAQ additionally says permanent residents must be in the process of becoming U.S. citizens.

- Need influences selection and award size; $500-$6000 yearly for up to four academic years/eight semesters, contingent on renewal requirements that are not fully public. Other aid can reduce the amount; a full-expense scholarship must be reported. No intercollegiate student-athlete participation in the prior or coming semester/year, or exclusively online degree. Great Southern Wood family/household exclusions apply. Any major leading to a bachelor’s, with a technical-school non-degree exception, may qualify.
