Timeline
  1. Sep 1The page announces 2027 applications are available and gives a recurring -April 15 postmark schedule. Its new links are malformed JavaScript placeholders, so the dated 2027 deadline and actual new forms are unconfirmed
  2. Apr 15, 2026The prior member form explicitly said .
How to apply
Use the official member or nonmember form when the 2027 downloads are repaired. The 2026 member package required a mailed signed application with financial information, an essay, activities sheet, exactly two recommendations (academic and community) and official/certified transcripts; seniors/freshmen also supplied SAT/ACT scores. No electronic submissions were accepted for that cycle.
What you'll need
  • A separate scholarship application
Who can apply
U.S. citizens enrolling full time at an accredited trade school, community college or college who are FRA members or their spouses, children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, or (non-member track) who have a personal or family connection to service in the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard.
Good to know
Current official page was successfully read on October 1, resolving the prior 502 access gap. It confirms general award, eligibility and merit/need criteria, but all 2027 form links are literal malformed JavaScript placeholders. The accessible 2026 member PDF remains historical. Do not infer the 2027 closing year from its recurring April 15 text or submit the old form.
