- How to apply
- The 2027-28 form is not yet published. The linked 2026-27 package required signed application, three activity/honors/community attachments, exactly three signed non-relative recommendations including one non-academic source, proof of sponsor Chief rank and DEERS dependency, and a 200-500 word autobiographical essay. Mail the complete packet to the Senior Enlisted Academy address; no transcripts, SAT scores or college acceptance letter unless requested. Include a stamped return envelope for receipt verification.

- Who can apply
- GED holders, graduating seniors/high school graduates entering college or current undergraduates at accredited degree-granting/vocational institutions, who are DEERS-registered dependent children/adopted children/stepchildren or nonuniformed spouses of active, Reserve, honorably discharged/retired or deceased Navy Chief/Senior Chief/Master Chief. Full scholarships, service-academy attendees, active-duty/enlisted Reserve applicants and sponsors converted to LDO/CWO are excluded under current guidance.
- Good to know
- Two $5000 MCPON and approximately 20-50 $2000 awards are given annually depending on funding. Prior winners may reapply each eligible year; no automatic renewal. Funds go through the school bursar for eligible tuition, fees, books, housing and other account expenses. The next opening January 1, 2027 is explicit; the closing schedule remains undated April 1 and the linked form is 2026-27. FAQ says no financial-aid statement is currently required, although the checklist says need is evaluated.
