Tuskegee Airmen Scholarship
Merit + needScholarship
Financial need is part of how this award is decided, alongside merit.
- Award
- $1,500 as a one-time first-year award, usable within one year of selection.
- Deadline
- Set by each local Tuskegee Airmen, Inc. chapter; 2027 chapter deadlines not posted on the Foundation page
- How to apply
- Obtain and submit the application through the participating Tuskegee Airmen chapter nearest your residence. The foundation lists an official transcript, senior schedule, parental income proof, three recommendations, a one-page Tuskegee Airmen essay, a personal essay of at most two pages and activities list. Its tax-year examples are outdated; the local chapter’s new form must supply current instructions.
- What you'll need
- A separate scholarship application
- Who can apply
- The foundation’s published rules describe spring high school graduates from accredited schools with at least a 3.0 GPA, entering full-time college study. They support aviation, aerospace, STEM and other disciplines, so those majors are not an exclusive requirement. Confirm the current rules and participating chapter before applying.
- Good to know
- Selection weighs academics, activities, relative financial need, recommendations and essays. A full-time enrollment verification is required after selection; pre-enrollment forms do not qualify. The award must be used within one year. Some application text still refers to 2015/2016 taxes and obsolete Form 1040 line numbers, so current chapter instructions need checking.
