- Who can apply
- Florida resident and U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen; standard Florida diploma/equivalent or eligible nontraditional route. Standard FAS path requires 16 specified college-preparatory credits, 3.50 weighted Bright Futures GPA, and ACT 29, CLT 95 or SAT 1330 for 2026-27 graduates seeking fall 2027 funding. Complete 100 volunteer hours, 100 paid-work hours, or 100 combined hours. National Merit, AICE and IB recognition have alternative routes; AP Capstone Diploma can qualify for FAS. - Good to know
- Standard GPA and test thresholds have merit-recognition exceptions, so no universal GPA filter is applied. Non-Florida high-school route requires Florida-resident parent/guardian military or public-service assignment away from Florida, including specified recent retirees. Dropped/withdrawn courses after drop/add normally require repayment before renewal; documented emergency appeals and limited restoration are available.
