Award
100% of tuition at New Mexico public colleges and universities, up to seven semesters (three at community colleges). The Opportunity Scholarship can cover the first qualifying semester and course fees.
Deadline
No separate scholarship application. Normally establish full-time college eligibility within 16 months after qualifying high-school/HSE/homeschool completion; follow institutional admission/enrolment deadlines. Disability documentation has separate preterm timing; ask financial-aid office.
How to apply
No separate scholarship application or FAFSA required. Enrol/register at eligible New Mexico public institution and notify financial-aid adviser that first full-time semester establishes Lottery eligibility. College determines qualification and credits award. Disability accommodation requires student-services documentation and timely notice before term.

Who can apply
New Mexico resident (normally 12 consecutive months) with qualifying New Mexico high-school graduation, HSE while resident or registered homeschool completion; first bachelor not yet earned. Eligible out-of-state members of a Nation/Tribe/Pueblo wholly or partly in New Mexico can qualify with membership proof. Noncitizens may qualify through nondiscrimination waiver after at least one year New Mexico high-school attendance and qualifying NM graduation/HSE. Establish and maintain 2.50 college GPA, full-time 15 credits four-year or 12 community college within 16 months and continuous fall/spring enrolment, with disability/approved interruption exceptions.
Good to know
Tuition only at eligible participating New Mexico public institutions, not private/out-of-state colleges. Lottery starts after qualifying first semester; bridge/Opportunity aid may fund that term and course-specific fees. Up to seven bachelor-funded semesters or first bachelor completion, three community-college semesters; disability exceptions may extend. Summer optional. Withdrawal/credit shortfall needs prompt institutional review; approved leave may preserve eligibility.
