- How to apply
- Apply to and be accepted at eligible Montana campus, then complete AwardMontana online application. Upload acceptance letter/email, official seventh-semester transcript covering freshman through first senior semester, ACT/SAT proof and counselor-signed Rigorous Core/IB/Attendance Certification. Middle-school transcript required if counting Algebra I from middle school; other courses must appear on high-school transcript. Accept/decline promptly if offered.

- Who can apply
- Montana resident/U.S. citizen applying in graduation year, normally three full-time years at Montana Board-accredited high school including senior year. Narrow military-parent exception permits prior out-of-state accredited schooling with Montana senior year and documented parent residency/support. Seventh-semester GPA 3.40+ using school weighting consistently; complete Rigorous Core or IB diploma by graduation. Selection combines within-school GPA rank points (rounded tenth) and ACT/SAT equivalent, with ACT superscores accepted by February 2027. Accepted eligible campus required; minimums do not guarantee award.

Start within nine months after graduation; renew maximum eight continuous fall/spring semesters with full-time 12+ credits, annual cumulative GPA 3.40, 30/60/90 earned credits after two/four/six semesters and conduct compliance. Eligible-campus transfer requires notification; summer waiver at campus discretion, with appeal for beyond-control GPA/credit circumstances.
