- How to apply
- School principal nominates one student per category, with only one category per student. Coordinator creates online profile and enters transcript/scores; student uploads signed parent/student release, photo, teacher recommendation, activity lists, category/leadership/service/unique-qualities/life-enrichment essays and category work. Wasatch Front handbook says all uploaded portfolios proceed at cutoff; use coordinator review before closing. Required in-person interviews follow.

- Who can apply
- Utah public high-school students graduating in 2027 and nominated by the school, including eligible concurrent-college and foreign-exchange students. Fourteen categories evaluate academics, category expertise, leadership, service/citizenship and interview; no universal GPA cutoff. Category-specific work and performance requirements apply.
- Good to know
- Five independent regional competitions with no statewide round. Current Wasatch Front handbook confirms 2027 activity but some copied payment/college-table sections still label 2026-27. Claim Wasatch cash award by sending college acceptance, student ID and school contact details; funds may be held up to three years for approved delays. College awards require separate campus admission/proof and campus renewal rules. Wasatch handbook prohibits AI use in competition and requires in-person interview participation.
