Idaho Governor's Cup Scholarship (Academic)
UnconfirmedScholarship
This is a real program, but some details for the current cycle are not published or not yet confirmed. Check the official source before you plan around it.
- Award
- Academic award up to $5,000 per year, renewable for up to four years. This entry covers the academic track; career-technical awards are separate.
- Deadline
- 2027-28 dates are not published in the pages reviewed. The state portal still labels its early-October opening as 2026-27.
- How to apply
- Complete the Idaho State Board of Education general scholarship application with a 500-word personal essay, documentation of volunteer work, community leadership and public service, and two letters of recommendation. Use a personal email address in Scholarship Idaho. For renewal, sponsor’s current form requires an annual full-time undergraduate intent declaration; that form is still 2026-27, so do not assume its January deadline for the next cycle.
- What you'll need
- Recommendations
- An essay
- Who can apply
- Idaho residents graduating from an Idaho high school or Idaho home school with an unweighted cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, attending full time at an eligible Idaho college or university, with a strong commitment to public service.
- Good to know
- Current state page supports the 3.5 unweighted GPA and required essay, service documentation and two letters. The renewal form is still for 2026-27 and has inconsistent January 30/31 references; it does not establish 2027-28 renewal dates or all continuation standards.
