GRCF general scholarship application
DirectoryScholarship
This is a group of awards reached through one application. Each award inside it has its own rules.
- Award
- Most individual awards range from $2,000 to $5,000 for the upcoming school year; amounts and future renewal vary by fund.
- Deadline
- General applications open December 1 and close March 1 at 11:59 p.m. annually. The pages do not specify a 2027 cycle year or closing time zone. Separate funds have their own applications.
- How to apply
- Complete the general application through GoApply using your education history and recent transcript or grade report, financial information and actual or estimated Student Aid Index, and personal statements. The current FAQ lists four statements of no more than 3,000 characters each; check the new cycle’s form. The foundation matches funds automatically.
- What you'll need
- Essays
- Who can apply
- Students with current or past West Michigan connections pursuing college, graduate school or career training, with specific county, school, field, GPA and other donor restrictions. Financial need is generally important; household income above $100,000 is described as less likely to receive an award, not an eligibility cutoff.
- Good to know
- FAFSA-ineligible applicants may use the Federal Student Aid Estimator. Scholarships are paid to the institution after acceptance for the upcoming school year; up to $500 may cover costs not billed directly by the college. The FAQ’s four 3,000-character statements differ from an older 500-word goals-statement tip on the same page. Individual continuation rules are not stated in the general guide.
