This is a group of awards reached through one application. Each award inside it has its own rules.

Award
More than 140 donor scholarships through one application, with varying individual award amounts and continued eligibility. No uniform collection-wide award.
Deadline
2027 deadline not yet posted; the 2026 application opened December 1 and closed February 25, 2026. Decisions are released in early May.
How to apply
Submit one online application with a transcript, short answer, essay and optional recommendations (required for certain funds); you are matched to funds automatically. FAFSA is not required.

Who can apply
Mostly high school seniors from the 60 cities and towns of Worcester County who will enroll full-time in a 2- or 4-year undergraduate program; some funds serve college students, adults or non-residents.
Good to know
FAFSA not required, but income questions may require tax/benefit information. Recommendations are optional except for named funds. Existing applicants updating an application should edit their account; previous applicants without a current GWCF award are instructed to create a new account when reapplying. Page differs between early-May and mid-June notification guidance.
