This is a group of awards reached through one application. Each award inside it has its own rules.
- Award
- Individual awards approximately $1,000-$6,000 for approved academic-year educational expenses. No summer funding; renewability/duration are not specified on the reviewed collection pages.
- Deadline
- Application process currently closed; 2027 dates not published. FAQ lists May 1 for college choice/financial information, while the older initiatives page also gives May 15 for financial information. Confirm next cycle’s document deadline.
- How to apply
- When process opens, submit required financial-aid report, all college award letters and grades online. Official transcript not required; high-school report card should show at least two marking periods, college applicants current grade report. If financial package is pending, obtain estimated school amounts and confirm deadline.

- Who can apply
- Permanent mailing address in one of the eight Western New York counties: Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans or Wyoming. At least 2.0 GPA and acceptance at an accredited nonprofit U.S. school for full-time undergraduate study. Limited graduate funds in specified fields have separate rules.
- Good to know
- About $3 million to nearly 3,000 students in 2025 is aggregate. Awards primarily need-based, with strong preference for Pell-eligible applicants attending school in the region; some weigh achievement/service. Changing schools after award cancels scholarship under the posted FAQ. Permanent local address can qualify when studying elsewhere.
