A+ Scholarship Program
Merit + needScholarship
Financial need is part of how this award is decided, alongside merit.
- Award
- Unpaid tuition and general fees after federal non-loan aid, subject to funding and an annual per-hour cap; 2026-27 cap $240 per credit or $8 per clock hour. The 2027-28 cap is not published.
- Deadline
- No separate statewide scholarship application deadline; complete the FAFSA annually and confirm the participating institution’s processing deadlines.
- How to apply
- Enter a written A+ agreement before high school graduation, complete the school’s A+ requirements, and provide the A+ transcript certification to a participating institution. Make a good-faith annual FAFSA effort; a Federal Student Aid Estimator applies at schools not participating in federal Title IV aid.
- What you'll need
- No separate application: you are considered when you apply for admission
- Who can apply
- U.S. citizens or permanent residents graduating after at least two years at designated A+ high schools, with 95% attendance in grades 9-12, 2.5 unweighted overall GPA, good citizenship, and 50 unpaid tutoring or mentoring hours (up to 25% may be job shadowing). Qualify in Algebra I or an approved higher math end-of-course exam, or through the listed ACT/PreACT math and GPA combinations. Enroll full-time in an eligible degree or certificate program at a participating Missouri community college or vocational/technical institution; approved disability and other enrollment exceptions apply.

Eligibility ends at the earliest of 48 months after high school graduation, an associate degree, or 105% of program hours; specified exclusions and military deferrals apply.
