Award
2026 cycle: up to $2,000 per award for up to ten recipients. The 2027 amounts and continuing-award terms are not published.
Deadline
2027 deadline not yet posted; scholarship applications are closed for 2026.
How to apply
Prior cycle: submit the application form, then email PDF or Word attachments containing a cover letter, transcript, resume or biography, one recommendation, and at least three journalism pieces. Online-work links must be collected into one attachment, rather than pasted into the email.

Who can apply
Prior 2026 rules: residents of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Vermont who are high-school seniors or undergraduates studying journalism or a related field for fall 2026, with GPA at least 3.0. Graduate students were excluded; college location could be outside New England. The 2027 criteria are not yet confirmed.
Good to know
The program includes the annual MacGregor Fiske Award. Scholarship applications are currently closed for 2026; no 2027 form, deadline or renewal terms are published.
